We began our whack on gated logging road off Lost Nation Rd. Walked about .9 miles and headed into the woods aiming for the ridge east of south peak. We whacked over several false summits, through dense cover of hobble bush, but also found lots of herd paths to make the whack enjoyable. We reached the flat summit and walked to several bumps we assumed were the recognized summit, but no jar. We then headed north, dropping into the col with lots of sink holes and bogs and spruce and fir bands. We stayed to the east, hiking around the shoulder of the 3017' bump and continued to climb to the north peak, through beautiful glades and old growth forest of birch and spruce. Reach the clearly recognized summit with the jar and a empty can of red paint tacked to a tree. We then whacked easterly along a drainage, found a well maintained logging road and walked out to our vehicle parked on Jack Brook Road. |
