Trails are pretty good and easy to follow. Both Halfway House and Sunset Ridge Trails are wicked steep climbs/descents from the CCC Rd to the LT. Lots of leaves are across the trail creating that nice underfoot crunchy sound but also hiding lots of little holes and rocks and making some of the sloping rocks in the hardwoods tricky. A few wet spots but all minor and scattered across the trails. Partially cloudy day on the ridge allowed for lack of views beyond the Worcester Range or Lake Champlain, but the foliage is peak and beautiful down in the valleys and across the mountainsides. Get it while its good before shoulder season arrives before long |
