Parked at Underhill State Park on Mountain Road and had to park down the road; by 1115 both lower and upper lots were full. |

All crossings were bridged. |

Dirt trails were well maintained; some blazes on rock sections are badly worn. |

Many people had dogs, but I think Maple Ridge Trail would be quite difficult for most dogs. |

A few small biting bugs, but nothing really problematic. |

I had perfect weather for this very challenging hike, but the recent rains have left their mark. The stretch of Maple Ridge Trail from CCC Road to the junction with Frost Trail was extremely wet, with lots of mud and slippery rock faces, and there was much wetness on all the mountain trails, even along the LT. Slippery rocks made for a slow descent along Sunset Ridge Trail. But this was a great hike with awesome views throughout. No regrets! |
