Challenging for my inexperienced pup going up the north side of Bear Mountain. Saw about 5 other dogs. Porcupine carcass in the middle of Paradise Road Trail. |

Lots. A couple ticks, a couple horse flies, lots of mosquitoes and gnats. |

Rain early Sunday made this a lot more challenging. Really nice hike, but the scrambling up the north side of Bear Mountain was tougher than I anticipated. Trails well marked and easy to follow throughout. |
