Very busy in Crawford Notch at 8:30, but oddly I was able to park at the almost empty small parking lot for Saco Lake trail, which was exactly where I wanted to park. |

There were a handful of downed trees on Mount Eisenhower trail and Dry River cutoff, but nothing significant. There were also no blazes that I noticed. Foot bridges were in good shape throughout. |

Many dogs were on the trails today, these trails are all easy terrain, and most hiking dogs would probably manage just fine. |

There was a winter hat near the summit of Pierce, and a pair of socks in between Mizpah Spring hut and the summit of Jackson. |

The rain stopped basically when I stepped out of my car, and after that it was absolutely beautiful all day! It's beginning to feel like fall, with cooler temperatures and crisper air.
The southern section of the Presidentials is generally easier terrain, and a great place to hike for all ages. There were lots of families with kids out hiking, and everyone seemed to be having a great time!
Mount Eisenhower trail is a bit narrow and overgrown in parts, but otherwise is a great trail and a hidden gem! Great views into the Dry River Wilderness while descending from Mount Eisenhower.
Dry River cutoff was a bit difficult to follow in parts, especially around the river crossings at the low end of the trail. I lost it briefly a couple times but was able to re-find it pretty quickly.
The ended up being a nice loop, and I completed 3 more trails for the Redline, and Mount Pierce, Mount Eisenhower, and Mount Jackson for September! |
