Plenty of parking at the East Royce/Spring Hill TH and the 3ish spots south of the Haystack TH were empty. |

All were very low and easily rock-hoppable. |

Blowdown just west of Butters Mtn is in a tough spot, making it difficult to get around- had to go through it. |

A couple of bees at the Red Rock outlook. None otherwise. |

If you need (for tracing) or are just itching to hike/run the Haystack Notch Trail, now seems like the time. Low and easy water crossings, and fairly good and intuitive route-finding, even in the wilderness area today. The rest of the trails were more well-traveled and posed little to no route-finding issues. An excellent day was had in this fantastic area of the Caribou-Speckled Wilderness. |
