	Date of Hike:	Tuesday, April 30, 2024

	Parking/Access Road Notes:	The road was still closed (seasonal) with a big gate. I parked at the Glencliff Trailhead at the foot of Moosilauke, and did the road walk over to Blueberry Trailhead.

	Surface Conditions:	Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable

	Recommended Equipment:

	Water Crossing Notes:	No significant water crossings.

	Trail Maintenance Notes:	The trail was in good condition.

	Dog-Related Notes:	This would be a good trail for most dogs. I did not see any dogs today.

	Bugs:	Only the first few bugs are here now, such as a few tiny spiders and bees. I saw one tick.

	Lost and Found:	I found a cell phone on the trail. I brought it down to the big kiosk at the Glencliff Trailhead, which has a cover over it and a shelf. I put the phone in a large ziplock bag and hopefully it will be shielded from the coming rain until the owner finds it.


	Comments:	This short trail (1.7 miles) is on the 52 WAV list. The first mile was in the deciduous forest, which is currently brown leaves on the ground and zero leaves on the trees. The trail was easy enough to walk on with only a couple memorable mud puddles. Around the halfway point you start to get dense pine forest and then beautiful trees (red pine?) and large slab rocks. Really enjoyable hiking without being too steep. I saw several white throated sparrows. Many rock cairns. I got to what looked to be the summit but there was still a higher point to be seen. I found a herd path (not on Gaia) and found my way up to a rock with four iron pieces and a small cairn. I think that might be the top. Anyway the entire upper section of this small mountain has some lovely views of Moosilauke to the East. I really enjoyed the rocky areas and trees.
