Foggy early morning hike. Surprise pouring rain during the ascent made things muddy and slippery on the descent. Slipped and fell twice but fortunately landed well enough. Some standing water was probably due to the rain rather than seasonal. Still a few avoidable stretches of ice in the last .5 miles. Barebooted throughout, spikes took a ride, did not bring snowshoes. |
