Comments
Comments: Given that this was the first night in awhile that it didn't get below freezing, I expected this to be a nightmare. In fact it wasn't bad. I bare-booted up to maybe ~3200 feet (forgot to check exactly). The Greeley Pond Trail section was some snow, some exposed dirt, and occasional diminishing ice patches. It was pretty flat so easy to bare boot. Kept bare booting until I reached the steeper stuff on Osceola Trail. Even for this, there was mostly very firm snow which was easy to get up and also pretty stable going down. There were also occasional icy sections but the warm temperatures made those negotiable even with dull spikes. Between the trails is mostly firm snow cover with occasional stretches of exposed rock. There is no snow or ice on the chimney or the chimney bypass.
