I strapped my snowshoes to my pack but did the whole thing in microspikes. Ran across some barebooters too. The snow is not deep enough to buttslide or snowshoe over Passaconaway's many obstacles; they required careful negotiation. Another hiker said that the Rollins Trail from Whiteface had drifts but I didn't see it myself. There are so many patches of ice to work around and roots that microspikes were the superior choice. |
