Section of AT road is flooded out… high clearance & big tires will probably get you through it but I chose to park before section at a pullout…. Easy 2.1 mile walk on AT road to Appalachian trail crossing. Beautiful hike up to Moxie bald summit…. Very windy so didn’t stay long. Continued north to the Moxie bald north peak trail. This 0.7 mile blue blaze trail is very remote & quiet, I saw nobody. The open terrain is breathtaking and the 360 view summit is spectacular. 6 miles to get there but totally worth it. I love these remote summits that are hard to get to. Plan for a fun adventure. |
