Comments
Comments: We had all conditions on this adventure. Livermore trail (from Kank) was pretty bad. Snow patches almost immediately. Muddy, boggy, snow-postholing into water, you name it. The trail was very wet. You're not going to keep your feet dry. The bottom of tripyramid slide had lots of snow and running water, but as soon as we broke out onto the upper slide it was gorgeous, could have been summer. No snow or ice. The traverse across the tripyramids was better than I'd been led to believe from previous trail reports. However there was plenty of postholing, decaying monorail, and unstable snow. The top of the south slide was gorgeous. Most of Kate Sleeper trail was unstable postholes, easy to posthole into water. Did I mention you're not going to keep your feet dry? Rollins and Dicey Mills were intermittent unstable monorail, but all in all considering the season not bad. We used spikes here. Dropping down from Passaconaway we suddenly had dry trails, spikes off, practically trail running in our sloshy boots all the way to the trailhead.

Most of us bare-booted all the way to Whiteface, then had spikes on until dropping off of Passaconaway.
