Comments
Comments: A little below the junction with the trail coming up from Champney Falls, we saw the first snow patches. These were avoidable. The short, nearly flat stretch from the junction to where the trail comes out of the woods has some ice and monorail. We barebooted that easily enough. On the way back down to the junction, I did put my spikes on, for more confident foot placement. On the spur to Middle Sister, the low parts had a few snow patches, barebootable. Others in our group (OTHH) came up Champney Falls and reported a fair amount of snow still on that trail.
