Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The first crossing of Cascade Brook is sketchy, powder makes it hard to see what's boulder vs. thin ice. We fell through once, so don't trust the snowshoe path.

Comments
Comments: Gorgeous day! Broke trail with a friend from the first crossing of the brook on Cascade Basin all the way up to Lonesome Lake. Sunk to calves or knees most of the way up with some very deep and difficult to avoid tree wells near the summit. Took Lonesome Lake trail down, with a shortcut across the frozen lake. Lonesome Lake trail was very well-packed. Pemi trail at the bottom was not (although we went the wrong direction at first), ended up on the bike path for about a mile in either direction from Lafayette campground which was a little choppy going north but easy going south (it looked like a snowmobile had been through).
